After our exciting night on the island, we headed east again towards New Orleans. Mrs. Landmarks wanted a "quick" stop to look at whooping cranes. No such luck, but we did spot a few gators. After much driving over land and sea, we grabbed some Vietnamese food in Galveston. With daylight running out, we found a city parking lot that allows overnighting. Less than ideal but the price was right.
The next morning we struck out again to lay down some miles. We stopped in Winnie and did some laundry, bought a cup of Joe. I also picked up some silicon to stop a leak from the third break light on the truck cab, a common problem. After driving through the bayou, we found a Casino that allows free overnighting (Cypress Bayou Casino RV Park, Charenton, Louisiana), lots A,B or C.
After a decent night in the park, we dumped tanks in Morgan, picked up some supplies in Boutte, and then landed in downtown New Orleans. Your options are limited for staying right in the French Quarter. You can either pay a hundred bucks a night in a rv park or pay 20 and stealth camp in public parking. We chose the latter.
