We have been enjoying higher altitudes and free camping in the Silver City area. I included coordinates of our campsite in the map section. We had free roaming cattle watching us most of the time but none were adventurous enough to come close. Gila National forest is huge and worth a visit. We also enjoyed the town of Silver City. Lots of friendly people with a substantial "hippie vibe". Property costs seemed reasonable, We see potential for this area.
Today we are headed to the cliff dwellings and more dry camping. The station offers free dump services and potable water which is a boondockers bread and butter. One night left here and then to Las Cruces.
